KCQ news with John Conrad. Good morning. After an Israeli attack on Iran's South Pars gas field, Iran retaliated with strikes on Gulf energy infrastructure, including a missile strike on one of the world's largest liquefied natural gas export terminals in Qatar.
The attacks on the gas facilities in the Gulf marked a major escalation as the war with Iran approached its third week. Vice President JD Vance paid a visit to an Oakland County manufacturing facility, making the case that the Trump administration's economic policies have strengthened Michigan's manufacturing sector, even as gas prices top $4 a gallon. The Great Lakes Bay Health Center's new community health center in Uptown Bay City is on schedule to open this fall.
Located at Main and Saginaw Streets, the new center will consolidate and expand all of its Bay County services into one.
In sports, the number three seed Michigan State plays number 14 seed North Dakota this afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at the Key Bank Center. The Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team, the number one seed in the Midwest region faces Howard tonight in Buffalo.
