KCQ news with John Conrad. Good morning. Major stock markets in Asia have slumped after Washington and Tehran threatened to escalate hostilities as the US-Israel war with Iran enters its fourth week. 

President Trump warned he would obliterate Iranian power plants if Iran did not open the key Strait of Hormuz shipping route. Iran said it would respond to any such strikes by targeting key infrastructure in the region. President Trump said Sunday he will send ICE agents to US airports starting today to assist TSA officers who've been working without pay for more than five weeks during the partial homeland security shutdown. 

The Trump administration has not said which airports and how many agents or exactly what roles they would fill. I-75 lane and shoulder closures begin today in South Saginaw County. The Department of Transportation is continuing its work on a $10.1 million project to improve five bridges on I-75 between Maple Road and Riverview Drive in Saginaw County. 

Drivers can expect lane closures and shoulder closures. In sports, the number four seed Oklahoma women beat fifth seed Michigan State women 77-71 last night in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Michigan women defeated North Carolina State 92-63. 

They advanced into women's sweet 16. The Wolverines will play the winner of today's third seeded Louisville versus sixth seeded Alabama game.
