 Michigan State Senate has passed an $88 billion budget plan. Senators rejected Governor Whitmer's proposed taxes on tobacco, vapes, and digital advertising. The plan includes putting more money into public schools and universities. The Senate's plan now heads into negotiations with the Republican-controlled House The constitutional deadline for the budget is October 1st.  

 May is Michigan Motorcycle Awareness Month. A look twice campaign promotes a greater understanding of the dangers motorcyclists face in traffic. Michigan drivers are being urged to look twice for motorcycles.  The state police say to keep your head on a swivel, don't be distracted and keep your eyes out for everyone. 

 In sports, the Pistons beat the Magic 116-94 to win Game 7 in advance to the Eastern Conference semi-finals.  The Pistons will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the semi-finals, another best-of-seven series, starting tomorrow night in Detroit.
