President Trump has put Project Freedom on pause, announcing that the U.S. and Iran have made great progress toward a final agreement. Trump said he's made the decision at the request of Pakistan, which has helped mediate negotiations. 

Shedri Green is the winner of Michigan's 35th Senate district seat. Green's win means the Democratic majority remains in the state Senate. The district seat has been vacant since January 2025 after Kristin McDonald-Rivett won a U.S. House seat.  

Voters in Saginaw Township have again rejected a $94.2 million bond request for upgrades to the community schools. The proposal was a scaled-back version of the district's $169 million request from November 2025. 

 Hundreds of Saginaw Township residents are planning to serve Saginaw Township with a raw sewage flooded their basements during last month's heavy rains. People have until the end of this month to file a written notice of claim with Saginaw Township.  

In sports, the Detroit Pistons beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 111-101 last night in game one of their second round series. Cade Cunningham scored 23 points. Tobias Harris had 20.  Game two Thursday night in Detroit.
