U.S. and Iran Reach Agreement

A major international development overnight as the United States and Iran have reportedly reached an agreement to end the fighting and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

In a social media post, President Trump announced that a deal with Iran has been completed. He said he authorized the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and ordered the immediate removal of the U.S. naval blockade.

A formal signing ceremony is scheduled for Friday in Switzerland.

Financial markets reacted quickly to the news. Stock prices around the world moved higher, while oil prices dropped more than four dollars a barrel.

Ford Issues Large Recall

Ford Motor Company is recalling more than 250,000 Ford Focus vehicles from model years 2012 through 2018.

According to the company, the vehicles were incorrectly repaired during an earlier recall involving a defect that could cause the engine to stall while driving.

Owners are expected to receive notification letters early next month with instructions on how to get the issue corrected.

Road Work Begins in Midland and Clio

Drivers in Midland should expect delays beginning today.

Lane closures are underway on Saginaw Road from Manor Drive to Dartmouth Drive as crews prepare for a future reconstruction project. Officials expect the lanes to reopen by Saturday.

Meanwhile, in Clio, a two-month resurfacing project is beginning on M-57.

The project covers about a mile and a half from Linden Road to the city's west limits, so drivers should plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
