Deadly Attack on Kyiv
Russian missiles and drones struck Kyiv early today, killing at least 11 people in one of the latest attacks on Ukraine's capital. The strike comes just days after the deadliest assault on the city this year.
The attack also comes ahead of a NATO summit in Turkey, where President Donald Trump is expected to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an effort to renew talks aimed at ending the war.
Michigan Budget Headed to Governor
Michigan lawmakers have approved an approximately $85 billion state budget, sending the spending plan to Governor Gretchen Whitmer for her signature after missing the state's July 1 budget deadline.
The 2026-27 fiscal year budget will fund state government operations, K-12 schools, community colleges, and public universities beginning October 1.
Senate Race Narrows
Mallory McMorrow has suspended her campaign for the U.S. Senate, leaving just two Democrats in the primary race.
The remaining candidates are Haley Stevens and Abdul El-Sayed. McMorrow has represented Michigan's 8th Senate District since 2019.
Health Alert: Cyclosporiasis Cases Rise
Michigan health officials are reporting a sharp increase in cases of Cyclosporiasis.
According to the state Department of Health, reported cases have climbed to 572, more than tripling from 170 reported just one week ago.
