U.S. Launches New Airstrikes Against Iran

The United States carried out a new round of airstrikes against Iran today. In response, Iran launched attacks targeting Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.

The latest military action comes just hours after President Donald Trump said recent Iranian attacks on ships traveling through the Strait of Hormuz signaled the end of the fragile ceasefire between the two nations. The situation continues to develop.

Graham Plattner Ends Michigan Senate Campaign

Democratic Senate candidate Graham Plattner has announced he is ending his campaign, leaving the Democratic Party without a candidate in one of Michigan's key races this fall.

The decision follows allegations from a woman who accused Plattner of sexually assaulting her in 2021. Following the accusation, several of his top Democratic supporters withdrew their endorsements and publicly called for him to suspend his campaign.

Michigan School Budget Awaits Governor's Signature

Michigan lawmakers have approved a new school aid budget that is now headed to Governor Gretchen Whitmer for consideration.

The proposed budget totals just over $19.8 billion, representing a 7% decrease from the previous year's funding.

DNR Asking for Help Tracking Gray Foxes

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is asking residents to report sightings of gray foxes as researchers work to better understand the species' population across the state.

According to the DNR, recent research suggests gray foxes may be much rarer in Michigan than previously believed.

Anyone who has spotted a gray fox, whether recently or even years ago, is encouraged to submit a report through the Michigan DNR website. Wildlife officials ask that reports include photographs when possible, along with details about when and where the animal was seen.

 The Detroit Tigers defeated the Oakland Athletics 6-1.

 The Great Lakes Loons earned an 8-5 victory over the Dayton Dragons.

Expect mostly cloudy skies today with showers and thunderstorms likely. High temperatures will reach around 83 degrees.

Tonight, skies gradually become mostly clear, although there's still about a 30% chance of showers before midnight. Overnight lows will dip to around 65 degrees.

Friday starts with clouds before sunshine returns during the afternoon. Look for a high near 82 degrees.

Saturday looks beautiful with sunny skies and a high around 84 degrees.
