Middle East Tensions Appear to Ease

After two nights of escalating military strikes, there was an apparent lull overnight between U.S. and Iranian forces.

Officials say the United States has been carrying out limited strikes followed by pauses in an effort to avoid further escalation while diplomatic negotiations continue behind the scenes.

Cyclosporiasis Cases Continue to Rise Across Michigan

Health officials are reporting another significant increase in cyclosporiasis cases across Michigan.

According to the Michigan Department of Health, the statewide total has climbed to 1,251 cases since June 22, up from 992 cases reported just a day earlier. So far, 44 people have been hospitalized.

Locally, Saginaw County has reported 13 cases, while Midland County has confirmed two.

State health officials continue to encourage residents to thoroughly wash fresh fruits and vegetables before eating them as investigators work to determine the source of the outbreak.

Bridge Cleaning Begins Next Week in Saginaw

Drivers in Saginaw should expect brief traffic disruptions beginning Monday.

City crews will begin their annual bridge cleaning and maintenance project, closing one bridge each day while work is completed.

The schedule starts with the Johnson Street Bridge and will gradually move south before wrapping up at the Center Street Bridge on Friday, July 17.

Each day's work is expected to be completed by 4 p.m., with bridges reopening after crews finish.

France will now face the winner of today's matchup between Spain and Belgium for a spot in the championship match.

 The Detroit Tigers defeated the Oakland Athletics 4-1.

 At Dow Diamond, it's Pond Tuners Weekend, and the Great Lakes Pond Tuners powered past the Dayton Dragons 15-7 in a high-scoring victory Thursday night.

Cloudy skies will gradually give way to sunshine today with afternoon highs around 82 degrees.

Tonight will be partly cloudy and comfortable, with temperatures dropping to around 62 degrees.

Saturday looks beautiful with plenty of sunshine and a high near 84.

Sunday brings another sunny summer day with temperatures climbing to around 87 degrees.
