U.S. and Iran Exchange New Military Strikes

The conflict between the United States and Iran continues to escalate.

The U.S. launched a new round of airstrikes targeting sites in northwestern Iran after announcing the death of another American service member. The strikes reportedly focused on areas believed to house underground missile facilities.

Iran responded by launching attacks toward Bahrain, home of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet, and Kuwait, further raising tensions across the Middle East.

The renewed conflict is also impacting consumers. Benchmark Brent crude oil climbed above $90 a barrel, helping push the national average price of regular gasoline back to around $4 a gallon.

Tropical System Forms Near Florida

A tropical depression has developed off Florida's west coast and is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Bertha.

Forecasters say the storm will move north into the Gulf of Mexico and could threaten portions of the Florida Panhandle before curving westward, keeping it away from the Tampa Bay area.

Taylor Farms Expands Lettuce Recall

Taylor Farms has expanded its voluntary recall of iceberg lettuce products grown in central Mexico because of a possible connection to the nationwide Cyclospora outbreak.

The recalled products were distributed to 27 states, including Michigan. Consumers are urged to check recalled products and avoid eating any affected lettuce.
