These Viral "Toilet Shoes" Are Real... And Yes, They're Already Sold Out

Every now and then, a product comes along that makes you stop and ask, "Who came up with this?"

Meet the latest internet sensation: Toilet Shoes.

A gut health company has gone viral after releasing what they're calling "S-word Shoes," a pair of oversized platform-style shoes designed for one purpose only... wearing them while you're sitting on the toilet.

Before you picture someone strolling through the grocery store in them, don't worry. These aren't meant to leave the bathroom.

The shoes are essentially two seven-inch-tall platforms with foot openings that elevate your legs into more of a squatting position while you're on the toilet. They even resemble a pair of flashy 1970s disco platform shoes, making the whole thing look as ridiculous as it sounds.

Believe it or not, there's actually some science behind the joke.

Health experts have long said that squatting places the body in a more natural position for bowel movements. That's why squat-style toilet stools have become popular over the past several years. These platform shoes are simply a more... fashionable version of the same idea.

Apparently, people couldn't resist.

The first production run sold out quickly, and the company is now taking preorders for the next batch. If you're interested, they'll set you back about $70.
