Here are today's top headlines from Michigan and around the world.
Iran and Oman Reach Shipping Agreement
Iran and Oman have reached an understanding on a shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz, giving Tehran greater control over ships entering the Persian Gulf.
Officials say the agreement could become an important step toward a broader ceasefire deal with the United States. If finalized, the agreement could reopen the Strait of Hormuz to commercial marine traffic and lead to the lifting of the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports.
Whitmer Appeals FEMA Decision
Governor Gretchen Whitmer has filed an appeal after the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) denied Michigan's request to activate a statewide Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
The program helps communities prepare for future disasters by funding projects that reduce damage from severe weather and other emergencies.
The appeal follows FEMA's earlier declaration of a major disaster for several Michigan counties impacted by April's severe storms.

Michigan health officials report that the statewide Cyclospora outbreak has now reached 12,218 confirmed cases.

Health officials continue to encourage residents to follow food safety guidance and monitor updates as the investigation continues.

Under the new federal guidelines, a family of four can now qualify with an annual household income of up to $61,050, an increase of more than $1,500 from previous limits.
The WIC program provides supplemental nutritious foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to health and social service programs.
