Ford: No Deal Is Better Than a Bad Deal

Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he remains hopeful that Canadian officials and President Donald Trump's team can reach an agreement on trade, but he's also warning that no deal is better than a bad deal.

The comments come after trade talks ended last week without an agreement. The Trump administration has since imposed 50% tariffs on more than $20 billion worth of Canadian goods.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada plans to respond with 50% tariffs of its own beginning September 8th, setting the stage for another round of tension between the two countries.

New Report Examines Flint Water Crisis Prosecution

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has released a 105-page report examining the state's prosecution efforts surrounding the Flint Water Crisis.

The investigation lasted for years but ultimately ended without criminal convictions.

Nessel says she hopes the report provides some clarity about the decisions made by government officials who allowed the crisis to happen and explains the reasoning behind the decisions made during the lengthy prosecution process.

The Flint Water Crisis began after the city switched its water source to the Flint River in 2014. The change resulted in lead contamination and a public health crisis that affected thousands of residents.

Saginaw Township Launches Flock Camera Transparency Portal

Saginaw Township Police have launched a new Flock safety transparency portal designed to give residents more information about the department's use of license plate reader cameras.

The portal allows the public to see when searches were conducted along with other audit information. Police are also explaining how the cameras are used during criminal investigations.

Mackinac Bridge Walk Coming September 7th

One of Michigan's biggest Labor Day traditions returns Monday, September 7th, with the 2026 Annual Bridge Walk.

The Mackinac Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic from 6:30 a.m. until noon while thousands of walkers make their way across the five-mile span.

The walk begins at both ends of the bridge, with participants starting in St. Ignace in the Upper Peninsula or Mackinaw City on the Lower Peninsula.

The Detroit Tigers picked up a 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
