UPDATE

Welcome to Chad Hughes!  Our newest part time staff member! He’s originally from just outside of Los Angeles, but he moved to Michigan a few years ago.  As a talented musician, working with audio here at MBC will be a breeze.  Chad will start as a board op on Sunday mornings.  He has already started training at that will continue this weekend with Kylie.

As you know the refresh and update of 98FMKCQ.com is complete.  We are adding content hourly.  We have also refreshed the JOE FM website and the Bay site as well.  While those projects are ongoing, we’ve made some good progress.  Additionally, the KCQ blog posts are now MacDonald Broadcasting Blogs as they appear on all three websites.  Air staff blogging training will begin asap.  Please take a look at all three sites.  Feedback always welcome.

I have created a new digital contest winner form.   Moving forward, when a prize is won, we’ll ask the on air talent to forward the link to the winner form to the listener.  They will fill it out.  It automatically goes to Mary Lou.  We’ll no longer need the paper forms.  Mary Lou will print completed forms as needed.   Take a look here.  https://98fmkcq.com/pages/winner This is an unpublished form. 

As a review, any time a commercial comes up yellow that means the audio is not there.  It’s important that you scroll through your show to check for any missing audio files.  If a commercial does not air or can’t air or is missing, you must contact Shelley immediately.  You are not allowed to just write it on the log and move on.  Only Shelley, Cooper, Barry or Jason can approve missing a commercial.

Friday Night Live has been cancelled for tonight.  So Joe will not be on site.

Party on McCarty has been rescheduled for August 20th!  Boogie Bash will be hosted by Cowboy!

Thanks to Barry and Mackenzie, we sold the final pair of Morgan Wallen tickets to Burt Watson Chevrolet in Freeland.  Ray and I will be on site next Thursday to conduct some fun contests and determine a winner.  So far we have received over 500 submissions to win tickets.  We’ll be “hiding” one pair of tickets in one vehicle on the lot.  Listeners will scan a QR code to determine if they are the winner.  Chris Stapleton tickets as a 2^nd prize on Thursday.

KCQ continues with LISTEN TEXT AND WIN next week.  At 7:30am, Chris Janson Tickets.  At 3:30pm, Rock the Country tickets.

Joe's 3 oh 3 Pick Me Up will have tickets to see Classic Seger a Bob Seger Tribute Band and a ZZ Top Tribute Band on Thursday Night.

With the Canadian Smoke being a huge part of everyone’s life this week and part of the weekend, please include this in your content breaks, local content and weather.  Service elements continue to be key to our success and ultimately our connection to listeners.  We provide great music, smiles and local information they need.

Remember, HOW you deliver content is as important as what you say.  When the vibe in your voice sounds authentically energetic and fun, WE WIN.  This is a performance job, an acting job.
