2.5 Social Media

Team -

As you may have noticed from recent memos, we are trying to lean more into digital and social media.

You are all multi-platform performers.  We simply can't be "just DJs."

We're starting slowly and more training is to come.  On the weekends we'll be asking you to write one blog post on our website, then posting that blog post to Facebook.  Additionally,  we'll also be asking you to post a second time on Facebook with independent content that is unrelated to our website.

As we move forward, we will be asking you to post on Instagram, do a Facebook live and maybe even a tik tok.  YEP!  You read that right.  That's down the road.

The full memo below.

For weekend staff here it is in a nutshell:  We need you to post on the KCQ, Joe and BAY FB pages for every shift you do.

For KCQ, it's 2 FB Posts,  1 Blog.

One independent FB post exclusive to FB.

One post that promotes the BLOG you wrote and posted on the KCQ Homepage.

For JOE and BAY it's one FB post.  Just as you've always done.

Every FB post on all our pages must be 1 hour apart.

With 4,5 and mostly 6 hour air shifts, you should have no problem getting 2 posts in.

Also, you must SCHEDULE all posts.  You cannot simply post, without checking the FB planner.  You will get training on this so we are not posting on top of each other.  Ray, Cooper and I have promotional posts to make all weekend and we'll do that in advance so you can see them, and work around them.

This counts for every shift, including board ops.

Lastly, and maybe most importantly.  THIS CAN NOT BE MISSED.  Missing your digital posts is like missing a break on air, dead air, being late, ect.  Our digital future is critical and there are no exceptions.  Execute your social and web posts as you would every on air break you do.  With many of you still tracking as part of your training, you have time to execute.

If you're asking why, that's simple.   The larger the curated online audience, the more we can charge clients.  Also, and equally important, you are a multiplatform personality.  That means we must live where listeners live.  That's online.
