It’s hard to believe, but the sweet season of Girl Scout cookies is coming to an end. And while it may surprise some, not every box finds a home by the time sales wrap up. So what becomes of the leftovers?
In many cases, unsold boxes are moved between troops to keep selling a little longer. But the bigger focus is on giving back. Girl Scouts are encouraged to donate extra cookies to local food pantries and charities, spreading the joy to those who might not otherwise get a treat.
And for any remaining boxes after all that? Well, the troops get to indulge in a well-deserved cookie feast themselves.
It’s a reminder that even the end of cookie season can be sweet in more ways than one.
