 Army Secretary Resigns

Army Secretary Dan Driscoll has resigned, becoming the latest high-profile official to leave the Defense Department.

Driscoll reportedly submitted his resignation to President Donald Trump. He had served as a key deputy to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and reports say there had been friction between the two.

 Free Lead-Reducing Water Filters Available in Michigan

Good news for some Michigan families: all Michigan communities are now eligible for the state's Get Ahead of Lead initiative.

Eligible households can receive free lead-reducing drinking-water filters and replacement cartridges.

Households qualify if they have a child under 19 enrolled in Medicaid or a pregnant person enrolled in Medicaid.

Michigan health officials say lead exposure can affect learning, behavior, growth and development in children.

 Midland Drivers: Expect Lane Closures

If you're driving through Midland this week, watch for lane closures on Eastman Avenue between West Wackerly Street and West St. Andrews Road.

The city is removing the petunias planted as part of Midland Blooms.

Why? Cooler nighttime temperatures have made the flowers more susceptible to disease.

Yes, even the flowers are apparently having a rough summer.

 Messi Says Goodbye to International Soccer

Soccer superstar Lionel Messi has confirmed his retirement from international football with Argentina.

The 39-year-old's last appearance for Argentina was the World Cup final loss to Spain.

Messi made six World Cup appearances during his international career.

He's not completely done with soccer, though. Messi remains under contract with MLS club Inter Miami for another two years.

 Tigers Get Crushed

The Detroit Tigers had a night to forget, losing to the Minnesota Twins 11-1.

Meanwhile, the Great Lakes Loons are on the road tonight, taking on the Lake County Captains.
